Egmont National Park

Egmont National Park is located in the central west coast of the North Island. Egmont is the European name, but is being phased out in favour of the original name Taranaki. Mt Taranaki is a classic coned shaped volcano that has been dormant for a long time, although it is expected to erupt sometime in the future.
